Valentine's Bites - A Christmas Sucks one-shot
Donnell MacAindris walked into the apartment that he now shared with his lover, the human mage Kieran O’Mara, and came to an abrupt halt when his dark eyes saw what was taking place in his living room. He gaped for a moment, still holding the bags from the grocery store over his arms. Of late, he’d taken up cooking as a hobby. Not that he could digest any significant amount of human food anymore, of course; but Kieran still needed to eat, and the vampire found that preparing dishes for his lover was actually a soothing activity that he enjoyed. And since he’d turned into a fairly good cook(or at least according to Kieran he had, anyway), it pleased him to feed his lover. He’d run to the store to buy what he wanted fresh for dinner, and now that he’d returned he found that Kieran had been busy at home while he’d been gone.
The human mage was standing in the middle of the living room wearing nothing but a large red velvet bow over his private parts. He also had a big grin plastered on his face, and he carried a heart-shaped velvet box in one hand, and a large stuffed bear with a red heart on its tummy in the other. The bear’s ‘hands’ held a large bouquet of red roses. Kieran’s eyes were sparkling as he cried: “Happy Valentine’s Day, Donnell!”
The vampire slowly closed his mouth, then rolled his eyes heavenward as though to ask whatever gods might be there why they made him suffer so? He’d completely forgotten what day it was, of course. Hell, St. Valentine’s Day hadn’t even been around when he’d still been a human! He sighed. “Kieran, you look absolutely ridiculous,” he said, shaking his head.
The mage’s face fell. “Oh, come on!” he protested unhappily. “This is the most romantic day of the year! Can’t you just relax and go with the flow, here? Pretty please? For me? All I want is to show you how romantic I can be!”
Donnell muttered to himself: “God help me.” but aloud he said. “Fine, if you must. I’m just going to start dinner now.”
“Hey, wait! Come and see the presents I got you,” Kieran remarked in a wheedling voice that almost always worked on him. This time was no exception.
“Very well,” he said in resignation, going into the kitchen briefly to put the bags on the island that he’d had added to it when he’d started stocking and preparing food in it for Kieran. Then he walked back out into the living room, trying to prepare himself for the overenthusiastic joy in that Kieran displayed over every holiday ever created. Although this one was bound to be worse than normal, since it involved him as well as the human mage…
Kieran brightened up when he appeared again. “Here, Donnell. This is for you,” he said, bouncing over(the bow at his groin bounced the most of all) to hand the vampire the red velvet heart-shaped box. “Sweets for the sweet!”
He always said this whenever he’d found a new kind of dessert or candy for Donnell to try. So he wasn’t surprised when he opened the top of the box and found dozens of kinds of chocolates nestled inside of it. “There’s a chart on the top of the box that tells you all of the flavors,” Kieran remarked helpfully.
“Ah. Thank you,” Donnell replied. He mostly meant that, as he’d developed quite a sweet tooth over the last few months with Kieran.
The mage grinned proudly. “And this is Mr. Boo Boo,” Kieran said, holding out the stuffed bear with the roses clutched in its paws. “Your new friend.”
Donnell eyed the stuffed bear. “I don’t need inanimate friends,” he said dryly.
Kieran shrugged. “He’ll grow on you,” he said happily. “I’ll just put him over here for now,” he went over to set the bear on the sideboard where the little wire Christmas tree had once stood. “There. He looks great,” Kieran beamed, stepping back. “Don’t you think?”
Donnell rolled his eyes again behind Kieran’s back. But he had to stop this gesture in mid-roll when Kieran suddenly whirled around to look at him. “I know that you’re not used to this, Donnell,” he said. “Being with someone and romance and everything. I appreciate the fact that you try, even though you think I’m kind of an idiot sometimes.”
“Not an idiot,” the vampire replied simply. “Quite daft, but not an idiot. And if it makes you happy to do these things…” he nodded at the bear significantly, “Then who am I to stop you? Its not as though you’re hurting anyone.”
“You’re so cute!” Kieran yelped, bouncing back over to steal a kiss from him. “I really love you, Donnell,” he remarked softly when their lips finally parted. “And I just wanted to show you that on the most romantic day of the year.”
He felt that peculiar fluttering in his abdomen, the one that he often experienced when he was with Kieran. “Daft Merlin,” he replied softly. “I don’t need candy or flowers to know that. You tell me every day, in every way, that you love me. Which is why I love you as well, Kieran,” he said quietly. “And I believe that I always will.”
The human’s face softened at his words, and his fingers caressed Donnell’s chin tenderly. “See, now THAT made me happy,” he remarked with a glittering smile. “Because you’re the biggest romantic that I’ve ever come across, Donnell.”
The vampire’s brows drew together in confusion. “In what way am I a romantic?” he asked, puzzled.
Kieran chuckled. “If you don’t know, I don’t think that I’ll tell you,” he said merrily. When Donnell frowned at him, he laughed and picked the vampire up in his arms.
“Hey!” Donnell started to protest, but Kieran shook his head as he carried his lover toward the bedroom. “Valentine’s Day isn’t over yet,” he told Donnell.

Which is how they ended up together in the huge claw foot tub in Donnell’s bathroom, naked and practically drowning in scented bubbles. Kieran was washing his back, and Donnell let himself relax and enjoy the attentions of his lover. “You have the best skin,” Kieran noted. “Its so pale and soft. I love to touch it.”
Donnell would have replied, but just then the human mage’s hand made a naughty foray under the bubbles. A breathy moan took the place of anything that he might have said, as Kieran’s long fingers stroked his cock into erection under the warm water. He leaned back against Kieran’s much taller body, his black head coming to rest on the mage’s shoulder.
Those nimble fingers were tormenting him so cleverly that Donnell was already close to losing it. Kieran kissed his ear, then breathed into it: “This is the part of you that I love to touch the most,” before he nipped very gently at the vampire’s earlobe.
Donnell shuddered in his arms. “Kieran,” he choked, his hips pushing up to get more of that touch.
“Mmm, say my name.” Kieran said encouragingly, licking at the rim of his ear with his tongue tip even as he found and cupped Donnell’s balls under the water.
“Uh!” was all that Donnell managed to get out this time.
Kieran reached up with his free hand to grab the tube of waterproof lube that they kept on a shelf above the tub. Donnell moaned in protest when he removed his hand, but the mage needed both of them free to open the tube and squirt some onto his palm. “Here, sit forward a bit,” he encouraged, and the vampire did so blindly. Then he gasped as slick fingers traced over his entrance, only to sink inside of him slowly. He rocked on them, his open mouth letting forth a stream of soft sounds as Kieran twisted his fingers and then curled them up inside of Donnell’s shuddering body.
Kieran kissed the back of his neck and the top of his shoulder blades as he continued to finger Donnell with such skill, and the vampire’s hands clutched at his forearms tightly as Donnell squirmed on his fingers.
“Oh, please,” he gasped desperately. “Kieran! Please!”
“Okay. You got it,” the human mage gasped. His fingers withdrew, only to be replaced by the slicked up length of his cock. He sank it into Donnell in a smooth push, the entrance made easy by both the water and the lube together. The vampire jerked and moaned as one hand caught at his hip and the other slid around his chest to find and toy with his rucked nipples.
“Ah, yeah,” Kieran breathed into his ear as Donnell moved in his lap. “So tight. Feels SO good. Mmm,” he pushed upward to aid Donnell’s movements, and together they found a rhythm that made water slosh up the sides of the tub.
Donnell moaned waveringly, his dark eyes blank as the pleasure of what they were doing together swamped him. Fingertips pinched at his nipple, and he shuddered and grabbed at the hand curled around his chest. Kieran understood what he wanted, turning his wrist to present it to his lover.
Donnell groaned and sank his descended fangs into the delicate skin, making Kieran gasp under him as he began to feed. He rocked and sucked, not needing more than a few mouthfuls of Kieran’s amazing magic-laced blood to get him off. His whole body went rigid, and reading the signs right the mage’s other hand stole into his lap and unerringly found his cock…
Donnell’s head reared up, and he cried out in ecstasy as he began to come. Kieran let forth a loud sound of his own; he could never resist Donnell’s orgasms, and almost invariably started coming moments after the vampire. He buried his face in Donnell’s wet skin as he spasmed and spurted inside of the shuddering body in his lap.
Stillness and silence in the bathroom. Donnell slumped over, completely spent and sated. After a moment, he stirred and lifted the wrist to his mouth again, licking at the skin to help close the bite marks. Kieran made a low sound, but didn’t move as he did this. When he was done, he draped the wrist over his shoulder so that it wouldn’t end up in the water and wash away his healing saliva.
He felt Kieran’s cheek rubbing against his skin. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Donnell,” he murmured.
The vampire sighed, letting himself relax back against his lover’s body, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Kieran,” he replied softly, knowing that it would please the mage.
“We should go and taste some of your chocolate soon,” Kieran went on after a moment of contented silence. “I want to find out what it tastes like when I smear it on your delectable skin. Hmm. What do I want you to taste like? Dark chocolate truffle, pecan turtle, or hazelnut praline? Decisions, decisions.”
Donnell shook his head, although he quite liked Kieran’s idea in spite of himself. “Daft Merlin,” he said in pretend exasperation.
“Indeed. Crazy for you, Donnell.” Kieran replied. “Definitely crazy for you.”
